"Jazz Horizons" by William Chabbey

William Chabbey Trio and cd « Jazz Horizons » (2002-DOM) STORY:

The story of this trio starts in 2000 with the ordering of the festival Nancy Jazz Pulsations with the guitarist William Chabbey for a homage to the largest of the "Guitar players": Wes Montgomery.

This meeting gives the opportunity to William Chabbey to carry out a dream of always:  the Guitar/Hammond Organ/Drums trio. This formation, which was dawning beautiful days of Wes Montgomery, indeed allows a large variety of musical lightings, the most subtle lyricism with the tempos the most "groovy".  Inspired by musical freedoms that offers this trio and the music of Wes, William Chabbey increases the extent of the musical shores while introducing into its music Brazilian influences with the help of its accomplice Carlos Werneck.

If the music and spirit of Wes are always present, in particular thanks to the presence of George Brown (which played within the trio of Wes), the repertory also makes the beautiful share with the original compositions, in a modern second reading of the good old "guitar trio".
